We built this luxury home theater to include a kitchenette and snack bar with eating bar, custom seating in a curved platform, finishes of millwork, fabric, plaster, and metal, and a curved IMAX screen.
The new challenge in construction is noise, both generated from and amplified throughout the interior – to deliver the vision that the owner, architect, and interior specialist designed while planning for the actual, everyday use of the space.
The windows between theater and digital streaming release dates are being cut dramatically, or are altogether disappearing. This is huge for the consumer, who not only must view movies at home these days because of COVID19, but might well make in -home viewing their preferred choice.
To isolate and enhance sound properly, a theater is built in several stages, each with its own purpose. Our buildout of this home theater in San Francisco started with a raw concrete room. Within that space, we built an isolation shell to keep outside noise from coming in and sounds within from bleeding out.
It was with more than a little pride that we read the recent Robb Report article on private in-home IMAX theaters, which featured the IMAX theater we built for a home in Beverly Hills.
